WHAT IS STARTUP WEEKEND
Techstars Startup Weekend is a hands-on, three-day event where you pitch ideas, form teams, and build and validate real startup concepts. It is a Techstars program, one edition inside a network that reaches cities worldwide. The shape stays the same everywhere: pitch, team up, build, present.
No experience required. Whether you are a serial entrepreneur or completely new to the startup scene, you will fit right in, and the weekend runs in English. The mission is to teach entrepreneurship and build stronger communities through hands-on learning, putting people first and staying open to all.
+ Give First
Helping anyone, especially entrepreneurs, without expectation of getting something back.
+ Action Based Learning
This is experiential education at its best. You'll learn by doing, not just listening.
+ Inclusive and Collaborative
Great ideas can come from anywhere. We welcome all people and their ideas, creating an inclusive forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun.
+ New Ideas Only
Teams work on new ideas developed during the weekend, not existing businesses or pre-formed teams.

HOW THE WEEKEND WORKS

+ Friday
Kickoff and Team Formation
Registration and networking open the night. Then comes Pitch Fire: 60-second pitches open to anyone who wants to stand up and share an idea. The room votes on its favourites, and teams form around the ideas that make it through. By the end of the night, you will know exactly what to expect.
+ Saturday
Build, Validate, Iterate
This is the most intensive day. Teams develop their business model, build prototypes and gather real customer feedback, with mentors offering support throughout. Workshops on Lean Startup methodology and on customer discovery and validation run alongside the work, so you are never building in a vacuum.
+ Sunday
Finalize and Pitch
Polish your pitch, finalise your demo, and present to the judges. Then comes deliberation, the winning teams are announced, and the weekend closes with an awards ceremony. Whatever the result, you leave with a working prototype and a team that built it with you.
Our mentors and speakers embody the Techstars Give First philosophy, sharing their experience and expertise to help you succeed.
Apart from organisers, mentors and judges, all participants are expected to attend all three days, which preserves your learning experience and means your team can count on you.

BY SUNDAY
NIGHT
You get 54 hours. Here is what you have to show for them by Sunday night.
Teams form on Friday night, around an idea, so you never build alone.
You spend Saturday building, and end the day with a working prototype, not just a plan.
By Sunday, you have rehearsed your pitch and delivered it live, in front of judges.
Mentors work alongside your team all weekend, and ask for nothing in return.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Everyone is welcome. Startup Weekend is for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, regardless of experience level, industry or background.

+ Come with an idea or without one
You can come without an idea and join a team working on a concept that interests you. Many successful participants join teams rather than pitch their own. If you do want to pitch, you get 60 seconds, so focus on the problem you are solving and why it matters.
+ What to bring
Your laptop, your charger and any tools you need to work. Most importantly, bring your energy and enthusiasm.

IN THEIR OWN
WORDS
+ Voices, June 2026
As an American, I miss that entrepreneurial spirit in my community, and this was exactly what I was looking for.
+ Natan Egosi, CEO, Aquathority, Florida / Valencia I walked away completely inspired by the raw grit in the room. Valencia's startup ecosystem is alive.
+ Jana V.-Milach, Mentor, Head of Sales Excellence EMEA, Google Cloud Great safe place to practice entrepreneurial skills, one of the best events I've ever attended!
+ Roman Rodomansky, Mentor, COO & Co-Founder, Ralabs You didn't just run an event, you created a space where people felt safe to take risks, fail fast, and build something real.
+ Tarik Achoughi, CorpData team, Tangier, Morocco There is something very special about watching people go from 'I have an idea' to 'I understand the problem differently now' in such a short period of time.
+ Angel Del Valle Echevarria, Mentor, Co-Founder, Venture Stage Lens Scott and Oki, you didn't organise an event. You built a greenhouse where seeds people had been carrying in their pockets finally found soil and sunlight.
+ Borja Vega, Mentor & Investor
